In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Kiss-im-mee 5k race promotes heart health with a portion of all proceeds going to the American Heart Association. The race course starts and finishes at Toho Square and takes participants through the historic streets of Downtown Kissimmee.

The entry fee for early registration through Feb. 9th is $23. The registration fee will increase to $27 starting Feb. 10th and day of registration is $30.

The first 300 participants registered before Feb. 9th will receive a t-shirt at sign in. Heart-shaped stickers will be available for $1 each to wear in honor or remembrance of those who have suffered from heart disease.

“I started the Kissimmee 5k race five years ago in honor of my parents whom I lost to heart attacks. This race has become so much bigger than what I could have hoped for,” said City Commissioner, Cheryl Grieb. “Not only do we get to showcase our historic downtown, but we continue to raise thousands of dollars each year for the American Heart Association.”

The Kiss-im-mee 5k, is sponsored by Kissimmee Utility Authority, Burkhardt ConstructionOsceola Regional Medical Center, Kimley-Horn and Associates Inc., Experience Kissimmee, Renaissance Planning Group, Toho Water Authority, Osceola News Gazette, and City of Kissimmee. The ChronoTrack B-tag will be used to accurately calculate scores for the race.

Awards and prizes will be given to the following categories: Top Three Overall Male & Female; Top Masters Male &Female; Top Three Male & Female Finishers in Age Division 10 and under, 11-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

Additionally, Kissimmee Main Street hopes to incorporate local artists with the Heart Art Walk. Local artists will have paintings for sale with portions of the proceeds going to the American Heart Association.

The most unique Valentine’s Day costume wins a $50 gift card from BB&T!

You may fill out a registration form and bring it to Kissimmee Main Street’s Welcome Station or fill out an online application here. If you plan on registering 10 or more students please call our office at 407-846-4643.
